Whether you are over weight or have reached your ideal weight, there is no doubting that you fall into one of two categories: you either love exercising or you hate exercising. What there is also no doubt about is that exercising benefits a lot more than many people realize. But just what are the benefits of exercising? In this article I will outline four reasons highlighting how exercising benefits each and everyone of us.
1) Weight Control
If you are overweight you should take the time to go to your doctor for a full physical before you start any exercise regime. Once you have been given the all clear, you should take on board the fact that if you have weight to lose, there is no better way to do that by beginning to exercise. An obvious statement to make, but exercising benefits you because it helps you lose weight through burning calories.
A lot of people get stuck on the fact they have “no time” to exercise! Don’t let a perceived lack of time in your schedule stop you exercising! Find an exercise that you enjoy and you have time for. If you do not enjoy going to the gym or don’t have the time to go to the gym, then don’t. Walk, swim, kick a ball around the park with the kids and done regularly, you will begin to feel the benefits. Start slowly and build up gradually.
2) Exercising Benefits Your Heart And Lungs
If you are finding that you are getting out of breath using the stairs, running around after the kids, then your heart and lungs may be in need of some exercise. Once you begin working your heart and lungs harder and longer than they are used to, then they will begin to gain in strength and that is exactly what you want. Exercising increases your cardiovascular system (your heart and lungs) and this is how you get energy to zip through your day when previously you found yourself flagging.
3) Exercising Benefits Your Sleep Patterns
If you struggle to fall asleep at night and you are waking up tired and jaded because of it, then start exercising. Never under estimate the necessity of a decent nights sleep. You wake up fresh, energized and ready for the day ahead. Exercising will give your body the work it needs for it to rest peacefully.
4) Exercising Benefits Your Sex Life
Yes, it’s true! How many times last month were you too tired to enjoy sex with your partner? If you’ve answered that question with a number that you’re not happy with, then take up exercise to help you regain your sex drive. After exercising you feel alive, energized and buzzed. All of that spreads out into all parts of your life and that includes your sex life.
You see your body changing and your confidence levels go through the roof, not only that, you have all that new found energy and stamina and what better way to enjoy it, than through your sex life!
Exercising benefits you in so many ways that it is a no brainer not to get out and engage in as much exercise as you can fit into your life. Your body will thank you for it and you will wonder why you never took regular exercise before.
